The boom gates on Abbotts Road near the South Gippsland Highway are stuck down due to a fault. Traffic on the South Gippsland Highway heading north towards the city is heavy back into Cranbourne. Traffic is also heavy through the surrounding area.
VicRoads advises motorists travelling through the area to seek an alternative route. People on the South Gippsland Highway can exit at Evans Road/Hallam Road and travel north to the Princes Freeway or the Monash Freeway. Another alternative is to use Thompsons Road and then Frankston-Dandenong Road to head north.
Metro technicians are on site working to fix the fault as soon as possible.
