Residents from across South-East Melbourne made the most of Saturday’s sunny spring weather at Kooweerup’s TurningPoint Church’s car boot sale.
Community members, along with those from Blind Blight, Lang Lang, Cranbourne and Narre Warren, threw their support behind the church’s community fund-raiser, which was held at the grounds of the Kooweerup Men’s Shed.
Attendees browsed the 19 stalls selling an array of new and antique goods before checking out the popular hot-rod display.
The men’s shed provided a great egg and bacon sandwich for breakfast for all the early birds who attended while the coffee card offered frappes to quench the thirst from the hot sun.
A church spokesperson said it was a great day with great weather.
We ended up with 19 stalls on the day with one stall holder coming from Airport West to sell his goods, which is great for the community as it brings visitors to the area and they get to see how Kooweerup is developing,” the spokesperson said.
“There was a good variety of stalls and some great bargains to be had.”
The fund-raiser raised just over $500 towards community events.
“We were very pleased with the outcome and we are now planning to hold one once a quarter,” the spokesperson said.
