The best of decades past will be on offer at the 14th annual Pakenham Antique and Collectables Fair.
Held on Saturday 29 July at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, this year’s event is once again a fund-raiser for the crisis centre, 4Cs.
It will feature 44 stallholders with a range of goods from toys, china, glassware, clocks, jewellery and kitchenware from years gone by.
Organiser Peter James said he had noticed a shift in the market from traditional antiques to goods from the 1950s and 1960s.
“There’s less demand for the classics now,” Mr James said.
“But I guess that’s a sign of the times.”
The fair will run from 9am until 4pm with antique expert and qualified valuer David Freeman on hand to price items, excluding jewellery, coins and stamps, for $5 each from 1pm.
For the children, there will also be the opportunity to win a voucher to spend on the day.
Collectors are advised to bring a photo of larger items for valuation.
Entry is $5 per person; children are free.
All profits will go to the 4Cs Crisis Relief Centre, Pakenham, which offers food and other aid to people in need across Cardinia.
