Drink driver crashes car into embankment

A Pakenham man has had his licence suspended on the spot after he drove his car off the road.
Police received a concerned phone call reporting that a motor vehicle had been seen driving badly on the Beaconsfield-Emerald Road, Emerald, before the vehicle left the road and hit an embankment at 7.15am on Friday 23 June.
Cardinia Highway Patrol attended the scene and impounded the driver’s vehicle at a cost of $1060.
The driver later returned a breath test reading of 0.167 per cent BAC.
The 37-year-old man will face court at a later date for exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol and impaired driving.
