Rough Night (MA15+)
Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Zoe Kravitz

Five best friends from college (played by Scarlett Johansson, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, Ilana Glazer, and Zoe Kravitz) reunite 10 years later for a wild bachelorette weekend in Miami.
But their hard partying takes a dark turn when they accidentally kill a male stripper in this patchy, inconsistent Hollywood comedy.
In the same vein as The Hangover and Knocked Up, this is comedy at its most obvious and crass which wouldn’t really be a problem if it had more than a few moments of comedy or was incredibly original.
But stereotypes abound with Jillian Bell playing the socially awkward, annoying overweight best friend, Scarlet Johansson as a would-be senator complete with Hillary hair and suits, an overly socially aware lesbian (Glazer), an over-achieving African American (Zoe Kravitz) and Kate McKinnon with an inconsistent Australian accent (though unlike the rest of the group she is actually funny and does steal the movie).
But there were redeeming features – particularly the performance of Paul W. Downs as Peter the nerdy husband to be of Scarlett Johansson’s Jess – from his “wine tasting bucks night” to a pretty funny cross country drive, Downs stands out. In fact he and his nerdy friends might have made a much funnier, much more interesting movie.
