Cranbourne champion Marc Holt will make his long awaited return to senior football on Saturday after being selected for the Eagles’ danger game against Officer at Starling Road.
The gun full-forward will pull on the boots for the first time since July 30 last year, when a freak collision with Tooradin defender Adam Galea resulted in a fracture to his lower left leg.
A premiership winner in 2011, the 31-year-old fought hard to be part of the Eagles’ 2016 finals campaign after enduring the pain of four consecutive grand final defeats.
But the 942-goal champion failed to recover, watching on as his team mates broke that horror losing streak.
You could say, he has some unfinished business to attend to!
In a strange twist of fate, Holt will return to the field against his Cranbourne premiership coach of 2011, Doug Koop, who is in his first year of coaching the Kangaroos.
Koop has the Kangaroos purring at the minute, sitting fifth after winning their last three games.
The Eagles have won three of their four encounters this season, in fourth position and keen to fight off the challenge of the emerging Kangaroos.
In other round six encounters, Beaconsfield host Doveton in the match of the day at Holm Park Reserve, Pakenham makes the daunting trip to Berwick, while Narre Warren makes the short trip up Pound Road to take on Hampton Park.
Tooradin has the bye.
