A man has been hospitalised with head injuries after a multi-vehicle smash on Monash Freeway, Berwick.
The man was taken to The Alfred hospital after the crash near the Princes Highway on-ramp about 6am on 16 May.
As of 9.45am, in-bound drivers continued to be stuck in heavy delays on the M1, banking back beyond McGregors Road.
Emergency vehicles also attended an inbound multi-vehicle smash on the freeway near Cardinia Road, Officer, shortly after 7.30am.
VicRoads advised drivers to detour onto the also heavily congested Princes Highway.
