Something fishy was definitely afoot when a Pakenham resident woke to a loud bang at 4am and found a fishing sinker in their toilet bowl.
Senior Sergeant Andrew Smart said the Sunday 7 May incident was highly “unusual”.
He said that someone had appeared to have broken in through the back door of the property and used a sling shot like device to propel the object.
“The intruder seems to have fired the sinker from the garage, through the doorway and the sinker has landed in the toilet,” Sen Sgt Smart said.
“Police seized the projectile and it is being checked by ballistics.”
Nothing was stolen from the property, however investigations are ongoing.
