Lions are passionate about women’s footy

The Pakenham Lions are on the lookout for more players keen to join their pride.

Women’s footy is one of the fastest growing and most popular sports in Australia and the Pakenham Lions Junior Football Club is looking for the next generation of stars to follow in the footsteps of the likes of AFLW stars Erin Phillips, Daisy Pearce, and the south-east’s own Ellie Blackburn.
The Lions have Under 18, Under 15 and Under 12 girls’ teams, but are calling out for more players in their Under 18s and Under 12s.
New players don’t need any footy experience under their belt – they just need to have a passion for footy, and a love of having a kick of the Sherrin.
The club provides a great support and social network for its players, who form significant friendships there.
The groundswell of women’s footy only continues to grow, and the Lions are calling for players to come along for the ride.
Anyone interested in getting involved through the junior age groups can visit the Lions’ website at www.pakenhamjfc.com.au, call Ian Shaw on 0433 925 648 for the Under 12s or Under 15s, or Steven Mortimer on 0411 891 135 for the Under 18s.
