Two youths were interviewed on Tuesday 21 March in connection with the Pakenham Springs Primary School’s playground fire.
However, the playground remains out of bounds, as police investigations continue.
The CFA were called to the incident at 3.15am on Saturday 18 March after a resident heard unusual noises and saw the school’s Year 3 and four playground on fire.
Police were notified and attended.
Senior Constable Ben Robinson said no one was injured in the incident.
“The cause of the fire is unknown and investigations are ongoing,” he said.
Pakenham Springs Primary School Principal Kerryn Baillie said the children were “disheartened and disappointed” to discover their playground had been torched over the weekend.
“We are pretty upset by the loss of the equipment but we are grateful for the community support,” Ms Baillie said.
Over the weekend, volunteers responded to the schools call for help cleaning up the aftermath of the fire.
Their efforts ensured the schoolyard was safe when students returned to school on Monday.
