A FAST-FOOD chain in Officer has banned students from a nearby school from entering without supervision due to frequent incidents of “inappropriate behaviour”.
Uniformed St Francis Xavier College students are no longer allowed to go to the McDonald’s opposite the school without their parents following complaints from the restaurant about several incidents.
McDonald’s Officer Manager Matt Riley confirmed the ban, saying the store has been “trashed” a number of times by students.
He would not provide further comments.
The ban has full support from the school which confirmed it will discipline students who are found in breach of the ruling.
Head of Campus at St Francis Xavier Officer Rebecca Cetrola said the school was disappointed by the behaviour of students involved.
“Unfortunately, after reports to the college of frequent inappropriate behaviour at McDonald’s Officer, both restaurant management and the college have decided that St Francis Xavier College students in uniform will not be permitted to go into the restaurant unless accompanied by their parents,” she said.
“Any student who does not comply with this arrangement will receive a consequence from the college.
“We are disappointed by the behaviour of some students when so many of our students behave extraordinarily well and represent themselves, their families and the college so proudly.”
