Bec clears psychosis misconception

A PAKENHAM woman said there was a common misconception about post-partum psychosis, having been through it three times in less than five years. Rebecca Possamai believed nurses were kangaroos, thought her bed at the hospital was part of the All Saints set and had a fear of all things black because she thought it was the devil. She spent several weeks in psych wards and battled depression. Now, the 34-year-old has a clear head and wants people to understand the truth about psychosis. She works as a doula to help other women who are pregnant and enjoys life with her two precious children and her supportive husband. For full story turn to page 52.
